This Indie Thursday happens to be a birthday show for Lys and Jason of the Grimm Generation! Go Virgo!

Lys Guillorn & Her Band
http://www.lysguillorn.com/
Lys Guillorn writes haunting songs in a style she cheekily calls "avant-twang". She rocks her Fender Mustang guitar, joined by brother Michael on bass and Peter Riccio (Sawtelles) on drums. Guillorn has released two full-length CDs and one EP on her own Danbury-based label Little Cowgirl Records, and is working on a CD of new material.

“So if oddly uplifting, folk, blues country-infused acoustic semi-electric psychedelic dark pop music is your thing, please say hello to Lys Guillorn, you'll get along just fine.”—Geraint Jones, Comes With a Smile #14 (UK)

The Grimm Generation
http://www.thegrimmgeneration.com/
The Grimm Generation sound has been described as Morning After Music and Radio Songs For Voyeurs though personally described as 'If Alan Lomax and Ziggy Stardust had a baby'. It's creepy, suburban pop-noir made and played by creepy suburbanites. Carmen Champagne and Jason P. Krug started The Grimm Generation as an outlet to tell real time stories of cheap excess and alcohol, but with the addition of Lys Guillorn (lapsteel, banjo, bells, rawk guitar), Eric Bloomquist (bass) and Julie Drechsler (cello) has evolved into more a sweeping soundtrack of a movie that may be your real life.
